The annual meeting of the Hongkong branch of the China Association was held in the City Hall laut evening. Mr. H. W. Eobertson pre- sided, and there were also prosent: Messrs. J. W C. Benpar, R. An interesting ceremony took place at the Control Police Station yesterday when the police to the number of 154 paraded on the cozapound under Captain Lyons, Captain Superintendout of Police, on the occasion of the presentation of the King's medal to Chief Detective Inspector Hanson for long and meritorious service. His Excellency afterwards banded the box for the medal to Mr. Hanson out addressing the European force expressed the hope that they would emulate the example set by Ir. Hanson, and concluded by wishing that officer long life to wear his medal.
