HOW TO OVERCOME THRIE DISABILITIES.
No more wonderful evidence of the marvellous regulating machinery which exists in the hunian body can be found than the way in which the body-heat is, in health, always kept at the same level, no matter what may be the external temperature.

Similarly, the subtle influence of a tropical climate manifests itself in the ease with which this delicate machinery is put out of gear and people's temperaturo goes up, so that they suffer from Fever,
All forers cause an undoubted feeling of weakness. To remedy this, there is nothing rapid in its effect, so certain in its action, or so complete in the rovitalising sousation it imparts. as Sanatogen, the greatest known roconstituent, to which the medical profession have, with a accord given the description "the tonis-food with lasting effects."
What Sanatogen can do in Fevers is strikingly shown in the case of Mr. Shirley Trecisarne (Editor of "Capital"), 98, Clive Street, Calcutta, who writes I had a sharp attack of fever last October which brought me to a state of great weakness. During the whole period my diet was almost entirely soda, milk and Sunatogen.
"I cannot speak too highly of Sanatogen, which I took for some time, and which not only kopt me up during the attack, hat afterwards restored me once more to full vigour. In fact, I was better and strongor after this course of Banatogen than bofors the attack." }

"MY IDEALED JOHN BULLESS."
A JAPANESE ARTISTS IMPRESSIONS OF ENGLISH WOMEN..
In the February number of the English Review Mr. Yoshio Marking, author of "A. Japanese Artist in London," begins, nuder the quaint title of My Idealed John Bulless," a short series of natioles on Englishwoman. As will be seen from the following extracts, reproduced by courtesy of the editor of the Eriglieli Hester, the articles promise to be extremely interesting..
John Bulless is my home-made English for the English woman!
THE PORTRÄTT OF A GIRL.
"It was such a long, long ages ago when most of my worshipfał Jahu Bulless friends were not yet born, and I too was such a little kid, that my father went to Kobs or Yɔkobama (I forgot which) and brought back a chromo lithograph picture. So for as I remember, it was given him by some Dutch offleor.
“The picture was a portrait of a most beanti- ful girl of about eighteen. Her chestnat -coloured hair was divided in the middle and waved down on both sides of a well-formed white forehead." She opened her big round and blue eyes and looked a little sileway, while her oresgoat like oro-brows came down nearly to the level of her eye-lids.
Her nose was short and high with such a nice form--perhaps a little turned up, what tho Parisians onll Le Nez Montmartre.” Her rosy lips were broken with a sweet smile and showed her white tooth inside.
“My father frained this pisture and banged" it on Tokonoma. This was the very first Ea ropean picture of any sort to have invaded into my village.
All the villagore used to come and bog ne, Please honourably allow as a glance upon that honourablo foreign young lady."
GODDESS OF WITCH.
The men and women, young and old, rick and poor, all of them worshipped this picture. Some of them exclaimed, Conid it be possible that such a beautiful woman is existing in the same world, where we live? Could als be an ordinary human? No, she must be either goddess or witch!"
By father often said, 'I am glad we haven't such a girl in our village or else whole villagers would be turned into insane, longh the girl?
I myself was only six or seven, but I could not get away from this picture. It soomed to me this girl was always beckoninr me, whenever I looked at it from distance, and I always went under the ploture and bowed down to pay my homage to her.
Strange to say, my childish impression on that picture has bean strongly revived again over since I came to England. Indeed, some
Mr. Wedgwood, explaining, admitted the ex-John Bullosses are more beautiful than that pic- treme "impropriety of publishing a personal letter, and regretted the pain sad annoyance occasioned to the Speaker.
Then, in accordance with custom, he withdrew from the House,
Mr. Asquith regretted that any member should give expression to language such as was contained in the letter. (Cheers.)
Mr. Austen Chamberlain and the representa. tives of the Nationalists and the Labourites

ture, and moreover they have wonderful Intelli- gence and Sweet Sympathy.
I know so Httle of John Bullosses as school girls. Do they object to see such a. foreigner like myself? It is awfully strange to say all my English friends are always willing to introduce me to their daughters, and thos daughters are either under ten years of their age, or above eighteen. None of my friends has a daughter between ten and eighteen.
"I wonder if the John Bullosses jump from ten years old right up to oighteen immediately? I don't think so, because I see so Biany girl seboole, and there abundant girls are studying, I fear that the Britannia is forbidding me to meet her school girls!
