The young lady, who is 21 years old, in the paly daughter of the principalin a Glasgow Arm which has one of the most extensiva soft goods. business in iho kingdom. The father is a justice of the peace, and his daughter is exceedingly well known in local sooloty circles.
Some time ege she went on a visit to a dis- tinguished Ayrshire family, sud first met her lover at a skating rink at Ayr, where he was employed as an instructor. It was almost case with them of love at first sight, wild during this remainder of her stay she was constant visitor
to the rink.
In due course who returned to her home in the west-end of Glasgow, and shortly afterwards the yonay man secured a situation as instructor ab the Victorin-road Rink, which was the first skating pavilion opened in Glasgow. Although the rink is at the other ond of the city from the young lady's home, ha bersine a regular visitor, and, according to the attendente, she was reon almost daily on the floor skating, with her lovor as escort.
In this way the couple had frequent op 'portanities of inesting, and the outeonie was an elopement. This occurred a few weeks ago.
Before the sheriff in Edinburgh the couple, duly accompanied by two witness, were united in matrimony, and on the following day they set off for Loudon to spend their honeymoon.
While in the metropolis they are said to have stayed at an hotel in West Kensington, but their period of bliss was short-lived, for the 'bride's father, who, of course, viewed the oront with stern disapproval, appeared custhe scoue, accompanied by a solicitor."

Besides being an heiress, the young lady is understood to already possess a small fortune,

Another elopement, the circumstances of which are very similar has it is rumoured, taken place. In this can the young lady--the daughter of a gentleman connected with another leading rm of warshon-omen in Glasgow, nad the bridegroom is a slating-rink attendant.
Not so long ago a flutter was caused in West of Scotland dovecotes by the news of is. Dunoon

A POLICEMAN'S BRIDE.
f
j
Miss Gina, Morosini, daughter of a million. uire, was married last mould to Arthur Worner. a Now York policeman. This event attracted mach attention because the wadding Was the climax a romance which begua when Warner, who belongs to the mounted constabo-f lucy, rescued the lady, who is young, beautiful. and wealthy, from a runaway horse. The inci dent took place five years ago. Worner was on his usnul boat, and saw Miss Morosini trying to stop the bolting pair who had been driving. Ho spurred his horse, and after a hard chases, man agal to grip the heads of the animals and bring them to a linit. Miss Morosini had no chance to thank him then in the excitement, but w72 so impressed by his courage and so grateful for his gallantry, that she went to the station and thanked him personally.
Again and again the young bidy cailed to ronow hot thaiks, and finally Werner was engaged by Mr. Morosiul as manager of his estate. Ho has served in this capacity ever wines and has shown markedrability. Flis said that practically the entire financial management of the great Morosini possessions have been in his bande.
This is Worner's second marriage. He madis a separation agreement with his first wife night years ago, and about fire wonths since she ob. tained a divorce ou grounds of abandonment.
Miss Morosini is her father's favourite daughter, and was known for a loop time as the best-dressed woman in New York. She was a fandior of flus hors said a prominent figure at the horse show. Wernor is the third mounted cons able in New York to marry an heiross lately, and naturally the compofition to onier the mounted force, which is used here chiefy for the regulation
of strent tenfiic, has become acreasingly kocn. All the horsed poling of New York are young, handsome, and chivalrous follows, who look as smart as British troopers in their uni- forms, which are fashioned after those of the Royal Irish Constabulary. It requiros political influence and a cash payout to enter the force, but once enrolled it is rather a soft job, because the foot police do most of the work, and tho imounted mou are reserved chiefly for orna- mental and rascens purposes. I expressed this rlow only last wenk to the lato Commissioner of Police, Mr. McAdoo, who introduced mounted police into America for traffi regulation, In London, as I explained, the traffic is regulated. in the Strand without mounted men, and why not in Broadway, New York Mr. McAdoo smilingly refused to accept the argument, but agrood that mounted constables locked smarter thian foot.
