THE UNIONIST PARTÝ.

London, January 12th. Mr. Balfour's letter and the Morning Post rejoinder have engendered discussion among the Unionists regarding their organisation and policy.

The prospects of difficulties confronting the Unionists respecting the Veto are recognised. Many are disinclined to accept Mr. Garvin's advice that, falling a compro mise, they should force the creation of 500 Peers, in pursuance of the idea that this wholesale manufacture, if not impossible, would cast ridicule on the Government, and see- ing that, when onco Peors, many would become Conservative. The objectors point out that this is a dangerous game, and it is doubtful who Laugh last..

Hilberto, there has been no official deliverance on this subject on the Unioniat side.

The Pall Mall Gazette ascribes the non-succoar at the Election to defective organisation at headquarters, which were not informed and loft the leaders of sections in a state of ignorance, particularly regarding Mr. Balfour's referon- dom announcement, and thus nullified the enthusiasm of the rank and file at a critical moment.

SANATOGEN *>

HAVE

RECEIVED A SECOND

LIFE

A Second Life

"If I only had another chance!"

How often does a man utter these despairing words when he feels his health undermined, his strength ebbing, his vital forces depressed-often as the result of his own errors or follies and he realises the infinite possibilities which might lie in his grasp could he indeed receive, in Shakespeare's phrase, "A Second Life,"

Happily, this other chance, this second life, is to be bad for the asking by means of that

Tonic Food for the Brain and Nerves

which has been aptly described by a famous physician as "the Last word science has spoken" on the subject of such remedial agents, and to which, by virtue of its health-giving properties, the name of Sanatogen-meaning "Health Producer”—has been given.

So potent is its force that it will not only restore the health and vitality which have been lost, but, if persevered in, will, in addition, impart the highest measure of nervous and physical vigour of which the individual is capable; for there is a maximum capacity of health for everyone, although he may not hitherto have had the fact impressed upon him.

Doctors endorse this and daily prescribe Sanatogen in in- creasing quantities.

The constituents which give Sanatogen its power are known to every physician. What they are is described below in the plainest terms in the telling analysis of Sir Charles A. Cameron, the Chief Medical, Officer of Health and Public Analyst for Dublin,

Medical Opinion.

DR. C W. SALEEBY, the well-known

medical author:

¿

“13, Greville Place, London, Ñ.W. *Sanatogen is a specially adapted food that has solved the problem of giving phosphorus in ruch a way that the nervents system can take hold of it. I would specially refer to its value in de feeding of invalida, whether during actual illness" or during con- valescence, and for nurs ing mothers."

bw Salesmy

Medical testimony of its value can be read in the state- ment of Dr. C. W. Saleeby, the well-known medical author. Over twenty-five thousand doctora prescribe Sanatogen in their daily practice, while some twelve thousand physicians have testified to its merits as

A Revitalising Force.

In Malaria, Dysentery, Low Fever, and other wasting diseases incidental to life in the Tropics it acts "like a miracle," to quote the words of a physician who has used it largely, It reconstitutes the blood, rebuilds the body, reinvigorates the health, reinforces the strength, restores the vitality, revivifics the waning powers, and revitalises the nervous system, until the patient is as well as he was before his illness, while it safe. goards him from further attacks.

The typical letters of Sir Gilbert Parker, M.P., and Miss Ellaline Terriss are selected from hundreds of communications of famous men and wonten who have of their own free will written of the debt they owe Sanatogen.

Anyone desiring to learn more about Sanatogen and the conditions for which it is peculiarly appropriate is invited to write for an instructive book, "How to Keep Well in Tropical Climates," which will be sent free to those mentioning this paper, on application to Messrs. A. S. Watson & Co., Hong. kong and Shanghai.

Sanatogen, which, by the way, is used in the Royal Family, can be obtained at all chemists and bazaars, or from Messrs A. S. Watson & Co., Hongkong and Shanghai

LORDS AND HOUSE OF COMMONS

Rumours have been current on the London AS ŠUPPLIED TO THE HOUSE OF market this week of an Indian sterling loan. It is sinted on high financial authority, however, that the market

is not pes- pared for more Indian loans at present, it being Considered that it badly wants a rest. Indian Rupee paper, with the Bank rate at 7 per cont. in Calcutta and Bombay, and 8 per cent. în Madras, stands at about 952, while sterling paper, with the English Bauk mata at 41, stands a point lower, showing that London is not the place at present for Indian Ioang.

The Pall Mall Gasette stated yesterday even- ing that Lord Crewe had decided against any Indian losa in London for the present.
