Washable Distemper.
To Mix for us, add shout ove pint of water to 5 lbs. of Distemper and stir to the consistency of good thick cream. (These quantities are only approximate ned judgment must be exerciter in the mixing.) If the Distemper has become stiff, het water should be used, as it mixes more readily.
Whiting or Lime should be washed off the walls or ceiling Lefore applying the Distemper. Wallpapers niny he painted without removing them, if the pattern" is not too prominent and if the paper contaits no gold, hul two cats will probably be required.

INSURANCES.
When walls are very peres or repaired, using too murli or unequal suction, we recommend a coal of size Lefore using the Distemper. This prevents suction, and the Distemper, when dry, is more washable than it otherwise would le. For very damp walls give a first cont of "SISCO" Damp Hester, also apply this to all damp patches and to places where the line or salt is working through....... the pinster.
White Distemper No. 6 is made for ceilings and is not quite a washable so the other colours, When necessary to lighten any of the shade, Cream, (No. 17) should be used for mining instead of white. Dry colours must not be used for altering the shadee, as they take away the binding properties of the Distemper and do not mix evenly.
All shades marked by the side of the numbere-in Colour Book and on the show-cards, may be veed for new plastered wall. Any other shades skuld not be used en damp plaster.
The Distemper should not to mixed too thinly, ene sent is venally sufficient even op new work, and will give a resili eqund to two coats of oil paint.
Three weeks after application, but not lefore, the Paint can be washed This operation thould
be done with a sponge wetted with tepid water and passed gently over the wall
