HINTS TO DECORATORS
FOR USING
Hall's Sanitary Washable Distemper.
-To Mix for nee, add about ole piat of water to & be of Distemper and stir to the consistency of. a good thick clean. (There quanti ure only approximate and fudgment must be exercised in the mixing) If the Distemper has become stiff, hot water should be used, as it mixes more readily.
Whiting or Line should be warhed off the walls or ceiling before applying the Distemper. Wall were may be painted without removing them, if the patern" is not too prominent and if the peper coutnica do gold, but two cats will probably be required.
When walls are very porous er repaired, causing too much or unequal function, we recufjend a cont of size before using the Distemper. This prevents suction, and the Distemper, when dry, is more wasbuble than it aberwise would be. For very demp walls give a fint seat of "SIEC6" Dampı Keister, abu apply this to all date p patches and to places where the lime or solt is working through the plaster
White Digener No. 6 is made for ceilings and is not quite su washable as the other colours, When nessary to lighten any of the shade, Creum, (No. 17) should te used for mixing instead of white.
Dry colours met mot te ured for altering the shades, as they take away the binding propenice of the Disicamper and do not mix evenly.
All sliedes marked * by the side of the number in Colour Book and on the show-cards, may be used for new plastered walls. Any other shades should not be used in damp plaster.
The Distper should not be mixed too thinly, the cont is usually sufficient even on new work,
and will give a leatit equal to two coats of vil palut.
Three weeks after application, but not before, the Point can be washed. This operation should
be done with a sponge welted with tepid water and passed gently over the wall.
