The adjourned hearing of the application for a change of the venue of the impending trial of this case came on before Sir Havilland de adsmarez, Judge, in the Supreme Court, at Shanghai, on the 6th inst Wo take the follow ing report from the N-U. Daily News

If the trial werd hold in, Canton it would not be conducted by the Crown' Advocate, so it would be necessary to pay for the services of another legal practitioner.
His Lordship-The Crown Advocate has not made any application to me in that connection.
Mr. Douglas said that the greatest expenses would, be the cost of the witnesses' passages to and from Shanghai and their maintenance for three days. He submittal that witanases in criminal cases were not entitled to payment.
