The most important appointmand in the list is that of Mr. John T. Griffiths, at present Consul at Liverpool, to the Consulate General in Lon don, as successor to Mr. Robert J. Wynne. This, with the Consul Generalship at Paris, is the most lucrative office in the Consular service, the salary being $12,000 gold n year.
