Hancock and Pearce going to the wickets and not being dismissed until the partnership had recorded a century, Pearce contributing 68 and Hancock 32. In the second innings Pearce, scored a useful, 55, Huchinson 53 and Lanning, not out. For the Services Captain Baird registered 49 in the first innings and Captain Beasley contributed 42. In the second innings the Service men made a rather poor stand, Bagnall's 23 being the top score. This was due to the splendid bowling of Fake who took sight wickets for a total of 40 runs. THE MARRIAGE OF MISS MASTER. There was an interesting and pretty wedding on Tuesday at Thornbury Parish Church, Gloucestershire, Miss Mary Master, daughter of Mr. Godfrey Chester Master, of Kyneton, Thornbury, and late of Hongkong, marrying Lacntenant the Hon. Arthur Stopford, K.N., second son of Viscount Stopford. The Rev. Alan Cornwall officiated.

The bridesmaids were Miss Joan Master, sister of the bride, the Hon. Bybel Stopford and the Hon. Eileen Stopford, sisters of the bride. groom, and Miss Betty Stewart Lockbart.

The Hon. Marjorie Stopferd, the bride. groom's sister, and Master Phil Crips, were trainboarers. The brother of the bridegroom, Lieutenant the Hon. Gay Stopford, B.N., was best man.

The bride will be recognised, of course, as the daughter of the well-known solicitor
