the proposition I now put before you that:
he report and accounts as prosented be ap proved and passed." I should be pleased to reply to the best of my ability to any questions that shareholders may desire to ask.
Mr, Osborne asked what were the arrange ments with regard to the General Managers' commissions. It seemed to him that the manage- ment was somewhat expensive, considering that the shareholders had not received any dividends for the past two years.
he Chairman explained that when the com pany was started the general managers were entitled to a commission of 2 per cent. on the purchase of wheat, and 24 per cent. on the sale of four. This arrangement did not seem satis- factory and a fresh one was arrived at whereby the managers received no commission on the purchase of wheat, but a commission of 11 per ceat, ealy on sales. The Chairman mentioned that the managere nadertook a great deal of heavy work, and he did not consider their remuneration at labour involved. disproportionate for the
Mr. Forbes asked how the percentage paid to the managers was arrived at, to which the Chairman replied later stage when the figures ban been obtained from the office.
Mr. Forbes then asked whether the flour age ing plant upon which Tls, 3,966,87 had been expanded was the same as blancher.
The Chairman in reply said that it was. Mr. Forbes had sent in a lengthy report to the Directors, dealing not only with their own mill but with other mills. He might mention that recently the company had had the opinion of one of the foremost exparts in the world,
Mr. ForbesThat does not affect its working. Mr. Platt ssid that he rose as the represent ative of the largest shareholder in the Company. He bad full confidence in the directors, and felt sure that they would consider Mr. Forbes's criticism and do what was best for the share- hokiers. He thought the shareholders might fat leste their interests in the hands of the Directors.
This concluded the discussion. The following resolutions were then pat to, the meeting and adopted:
Froposed by the Chairman, seconded by Mr. Sooh-that the report and socounts as presented be approved sad passed."
Proposed by Mr. Platt, seconded by Mr. Ollerdessen: that Mr. W. Scharff be re-elected a director of the Company.
Proposed by Mr. Watson, secoaded by Mr. Platt: that Mesars. A. B. Leske & Co. be. re-elected auditors for the coming year.
The Chairman said that he hoped the Com pany would be able to present s more satisfactory report next year, and the meeting
ben terminated;
