SCRAPPING.
Attention was called to the redaolion in the number of ships on the Navy List by the publi estion of official papers, dated March, 1805, par- porting to give a list of over 150 ships which wore condemned sa non effeolive. It was widely advertised that this was a great stroke of policy, which would result not only in economies, bat also in the clearing of the dockyard ports which were congested with obsolete ships.
