PIRATES AGAIN.
Inspector Dymond received a report at the Aberdeen Station that a piracy bad taken place
on the 14 instant about four-miles 'outside Lama Island, in Chinese waters, a fishing boat owner being the victim. This part must have boon algood fishing ground, for five days later the man whome craft was pirated returned to the same waters. He had scarcely thrown hie net out when the pirates again made their appear ance, relieved him of what, little money he had and departed with his oars. Eventually the unfortunio fisherman found his way back to Aberdeen, and in consequence of his report Inspector Dymond paid a surprise visit to a boure on Lazas Island, arrested four mea and succeded in recovering most of the stolon property. The men were charged before his Worship and the case remanded,

A female named Lan Kiu was placed in the dook on suspicion of feloviovely sad maliciously administering a certain poison or poisons to one, Chan Fuk, on the 17th- lastant, and the case was remanded. It appears that the woman was decessed's ocncubine, ond on the day in question, when he was suffering from a violent stomach acha she gave him the fatal draught to ease his pain. He died two boars afterwards. The defendant was arrested later, and being upwell was taken to the Government Civil Hospital, a constable being deepatched to guard her. While in her room, and while the amoah's back was farned, she jumped through the window and 2 ttempted to make her escape. A class followed and she was spon captured. Jordan is District Grand Master. Both Grand Masters were in attendance, and masons generally rallied to assist in a cause which with them always comes before others. The curtain was rung up to a full house and Mr. Frank Austin was the

A few days ago some Chinese students recently returned from Japan called on H.E. Chang Chih-tang.
