THE KING'S. BIRTHDAY,
THE ELVISW.
Haturday, was the sixty-sixth birthday of His Majesty the King and in Hongkong, as in other parts of the Empire, the occasion was Aitingly celebrated. The usual review was held at Happy Valley, and at an oarly hour in the morning crowds of citizes wore making their way in that dispotion. The streels leading to the great sport contre of Hongkong ware erowded. Soldiers were marching there, the trams were packed and there were na idle rie uhas. It was warm day with brilliant ani shine, and the Valley was Been at its best. The Murrounding billa were devoid of mist, and on the heights of Bowen Road many spentators could be discorned watching the evolations of the troops. These were not so numerous as in previous years, and it was again noticeable that the fleet was not represented, a circumstance which many people who admire the unrivalled marching of the "handyin in "rogroft d.
