THE GERMAN NAVY,
According in various journals, the pro- liminary draft of the navy estimates for the fusncial year 1908 includes first instalments for two new battleships and one now cruiser, all three of which are to be of the largest type.. The five battleships of the 13,200.los Deutsch- land class will bare tee's completed for sos by next year. At present only the Deutschland": and the Pommern" are in commission; the

It is hoped that by increasing the rate of construction the first full division of the new battleships of 18 000 tous or more will be afloat by the waar 1910, when also the last of the 33 battle- ships contemplated by the Navy Law of 1910 will be laid down. The estimates for 1903 will also include a first instalment for a new Large orniser of the improved typo which will be the ith out of the 20 large cruisers contemplated by The Nary Law The remaining threa large eruisers will be laid down in 1900 1911, and 1912, while in 1910 the work of superseding in retation the absolescent cruisers will be began.
