The Chinese community of Singapore are at present being provoked into a state of agitation over a recent act of legislation which may load to merions consequences, and which the authori ties are taking measures fordel with. It will be remembered that among recommendations made for effecting an improvement of the health of the Colony was one to the affect that in all cases where deaths were murogistered by a certified anodical practitioner a post mortem examination should be held on the body. This proposal was discussed at the time but nothing more was heard of it until now, when a cartain section of the Chinese are up in arms against this system, which they say has bash put into force and is being practised at the present moment.
