·lat and 2nd Sept. After leaving she saw a lot. of eating jetium Letween Sloop Island and Patalike; from thence foe weather and light bros zo.
The British air. Käutern reports: After get- ting about 85 8.W. of the Goto Islands Captain Ponell being convinced that a typhoon wa uppruching from the S.W. turned cound and ran for shelter in Tama-No-Ura Boy in the Goto Talande, where the steamer rodo out the full force of the storm; the wind blowing with barricone force from E. voring to S.. and 4. and the remeter falling to 29.10. At 4 pm. on the 2nd Sept., the weather began to moderate and the wind gradually hauled to the 8. W. At 9.81 am. or the 3rd Bopt., te voyage was re- eamed and the stramer experienced a high mougie 8.W. sea for the first 18 hours; thence to arrival seseorinble weather and slight swell.
