AN APPEAL.

THE SISTERS who direct Sr. Astorio's Torver at Maces will be very thankful to Shop-kespere, Kánen-drapers, Clothiers and Tailors in Hongkong, Macao, and cleewhere who will send to them remnante of material, books of patterns no longer used, and any pieces of cloth, no matter how small, of which they can. not make use.

Those who send will thus, at no cost to themselves, afford the numerous hands in the convent, especially the little ones, opportunity for useful occupation; for places of cloth, even of a square inch, can be stitched together and very pretty pieces of work made out of cloth, [381 that would otherwise be thrown away. These articles are bought by charitable persons and the Bisters are thus helped to keep up their very larga establishment, which is maintained by the alma of friends and in a great messure by the earnings of the girls thetaselves, who lead by no means an idle life within the convent walla
