DETAILS OF THE FIGHTING.
Tokyo, 4th December. The vernacular journals give a day-by-day description of the capture of the 205-metre hill. Several charges were made against the north- eastern forts on the afternoon of the 20th ult., -

The whole of the reserves joined on the 30th, and at dawn the Japanese charged from the southwestern corner. They met with a stubborn resistance all the morning, but the fire from the Japanese big guns vos effective, and by thres in the afternoon the range was got more precisely, and the Russian deul ell heaps. while the shallow-draught gau-boats made a high-angled bombardment from Pigeon Bay.
