The Tokyo papers say that they cannot but rajoice at the osture of 203-Metro Hill. Whether Port Arthur now falls soon or vol practically does not affect the situation, as the key of the enemy's main girdle of defence is altoady in our hands, which slispones of Russia's boast of its impregnability.
Liaotishan is the only position which General Stoessel can now effectively contest.

THE SIEGE OF PORT ARTHUR.
TOKYO, 1st December. The 203-Metre Hill forts, the key of the inner defences at Port Arthur, were occupied by the Japanese last evening,

It is officially announced that the besiegers commenced the bombardment of the 203- Motre Hill at dawn on the 30th alt.
The troops made several charges, which failed, owing to the stubborn resistance of the Russians.
At 5 pm. Japanese troops advanced on the south-eastern corner, uni with a free charge reached within about thirty yards of the summit.
At 7 pm.. with reinforcements, they advanced on the north-eastern corner.
At 8 pm. the entire summit and fort ware occupied. A heap of Russian dead wore found or the east side.
The Japanese position now commands the town and the harbour, which virtually menus the fall of Port Arthur.

The 203-Metra battery is principally.com structed of rooks. It is the key of the north- western forts, as it commands Itzeshan, Autze- shan, and Taiyangkou, besides the town and the eastern harbour. The uvamont consists of 47 millimetro quickfirers, and 15-centimetre Caret guns.

The Japanese are destroying the casemates and other cuponiers. In their attack on the 203-Metre forts, the Japanes succeeded in captaring the shelter trendlies near the summit by several charges and holding the position, ant are now trying to capture the entire battery.
LATEST STEAMER MOVEMENTS..
The H.A.L. steaner Ambria, from Hamburg, left Bingapore for this port on the 6th Dev., a.m., and may be expected here on the 13th Dec, a.m1. The U. & O. steamer Duric, with mails, &c., laft Nagasaki on Saturday, the 3rd Dec., at 7 a.m., and is due at Minile this morning.
The steamer America Maru has been with- drawn from the Transpacific sorvion by order of the Japanese Government.
