Those who sead will thus, at no cost to themselves, afford the numerous hands in the Convent, especially the little ones, opportunity for useful occupation; for pisces of cloth, even of a square inch, can be elitched together and very pretty pieces of work made out of cloth that would otherwise be thrown away. These articles are bought by charitable persons, and the Sisters are thus helped to keep their very large establishment, which is maintained by the alms of friends and in a great measure by the earnings of the girls themselves, who lead by no means an idle life within the convent walls.
