SANCHUN RIVER DANGERS.

Not very long age there was a serious boating accident on the Samohan River, as a result of which more than half-a-dozen paople lost their lives. Culess como change is made in the mathode ruling the passonger traffic on the river there are bound to be more accidents. When the river launches go up the river from Hongkong as far as the state of the tide will permit them the passengers are taken off by covered-in boats of the same type that proved such a veritable death-trap on the recent occasion to which I refer. Inside thene craft the passengers haddle in numbers far beyond the earrying capacity which they boast, Especially at this Beason of the year when so many Chine: go up into the country from Hongkong to spend the New Year Holidays, the dangers of the river are more obvious than ever.
