On the 14th instant, a most encodesful Flower and Vegetable Show was held in the grounds of the Hongkong and Shanghai Book at Kalangsa. According to an old resident's opinton, the flowers have never been Surpassed. The vegetables on the cther hand were not up to the standard of former years.
The most successful exhibitors for flowers were Mesare, Wallace, Hempel, Orr, Gochnico and McDougall. For vegatables: Messra, Orr,

which are evenly distributed throughout all ou streeta.
These gullies consist of earthenware recap tocles about, 15 inches diameter by 80 inches deep and stand constantly full of dirty water foc a depth of about 20 inches, thus retaining about 14 gallons.
