PROCLAMATION.
I, Sir John Francis Davis, Baronet, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its dependencies, in the exercise of the powers in me vested, do appoint, with the Consent of the Right Honourable The Governor-General of India, and the approval of Her Majesty's Government, that Chinese Offenders convicted in the said Colony, and being under sentence or order of transportation, shall be sent by the first convenient opportunity to the Province of Seinde, in the East Indies; and that Asiatics and other persons not Europeans, being under sentence or order of transportation, shall be sent by the first convenient opportunity to Singapore in the Straits' Settlements.
