Last night at the Theatre Royal, City Hall, the Taylor-Carrington Company presented the legendary drama Hip von Vinkle, in which the performers showed to better advantage than they have yet tons in Hongkong. THE INAUGURATION CONTINGENT.
London, 13th November. The representative contingent of Imporist troops which is to take part in the ceremonies in connection with the inauguration of the Australian Commonwealth laft London yester day. Taumense enthusiasm was displayed when the troops left Waterloo station.
The contingent consists of men who have been picked for their good conduct and smartness, and also for their fine physique, and included among them are the tallest men in the British Army.
The troopship Britannic, which is conveying the troops to Australia, left Southampton this morning.
