In 1899 the orop from Ceylon was the heaviest on record. About 17,000,000 lbs of this tea was consumed in Russia last year and as the consumption is increasing yearly, there is no fear that the ter now grown on the south-east coast of the black Cancasino Bea will oust it from the Russian market.
