THE SECOND COLONIAL SEA AND PIRE INSURANCE COMPANY OF
BATAVIA.
It is insonded that the new Company shall take over the ground and buildings at Hongkong, now occupied by the Oriental Sugar Refinery, with the Plant and Machinery therein. The ground, which has a watoe tmatage of nearly 200 feet, comprises nearly two acres. The Buildings and Works are quite new and fa cuplete order, capable of resning shant 1,000 pouls of raw Sugur daily. It isalso intended to take over the grand and premises belonging to the Company at Bestow & Ctúna, with the valuable Plant and Machinery thereon. The last mentioned ground contains about 15 acres, with excellent water frontage, and is otherwise eligibly situated for carrying on the Company's works. The works and buildings are reb unfinished; when com pleted they will be capable of refining shout 1.500 picule of Raw Sugar doily, They will be Buished before the next Sugar season, or about the 31st of December next
The Proprietors of the Oriental Sagar Re finery havs agreed to sell the whole of their Property in Horgony aud Swalow to the Com pany for $500,000 of which $250,000 will be takon in stares, subject only to a share of profits, by way of Royalty, to be paid to the Patentes for the sole right of using the Patent in Hongkong and Chius. Of the balance of the capital, about $100,000 will be applied in finishing the Con pany's promises at Swabow, leaving the remaining $100,000-available for working the Busines
