is proposed to establish in Shanghai
Ia Limited Banting Company, with the
abovo title, in the belief that there is not only room, but actual necessity, for the nd- ditional facilities which such in instication will afford to the large lopal, coasting, and foreign trade which centres in this purt.
The great extension of stearn communi- cation both by sen and river and the orga tion of telegraphia comprations, since the existing Local Bank was founded, bave greatly added to the importance of Shang- hai, until it has become the great depot or distributing point for the trade of North- ern and Central China; but, while it spams desirable that Shangbai should be the beadquarters of the new Bunk, and its direction on the spot where the principal intereste are involvad, a local Committee will be formed in Hongkong for the pro- motion of the undertaking there.
