My Lord.
On the receipt of Your Lordship's Despatch No 63 of December 6
64 relating
to the subject of Mr Treasurer Martine's priffered resignation, I communicated its fimport to that gentleman, from who the enclosed reply has been received, stating his wish to contine in his present office,
as
- long as his health enables him to dischargs
its duties.
I need, scarcely observe that
repeated recurrences of absence on account of ill health, similar to those which M÷ Martin has already applied for, would
produce the most serious embarrujsment.
The
Right Monnable,
The Lord Stanley
