relative to 10 Convicts for Transportation. Explains the embarrassment caused by being unable to send Convicts to the Australian Colonies and that he can devise no other means unless arrangements could be made sending Convicts to Singapore, for Malacca or Penang.

Arthur's Despatch No23 Dec 30, 1843 Encloses an application from MW Pedder for increase of Salary on account of the duties of Marine Magistrate being added to his other Duties as Harbour Master The increase of Salary has been refused but he has appointed Mr Inglis to be Interpreter at $100 per month three Natives at $10 each per Month and one at $6 per Month.
