The Company continues at Jalobu the work testlug the tin lode, which has now, besa proved to a large depth. The twenty-five ton of lode stuff, referred to in last report, have been" forwarded to Europe for treatment, and it is hoped that the result will be a favourable one. Sofar about $12,000 have been expanded on the prepeeting of this lode, which mini has been entirely written off. Prospecting for further alluvial dopesits, which was carried on during the hali year, has so far not gives farcurable results; but, since the operations extended only to a smail fraction of the concession, would be pronature to arrive now at definite concisions, and arrangements have been made to have this work continued with the least possible expense to the Company..

The Company is now also considering the ad visability of prospecting and eventually work- ing the various extensive reefe at Malienn From the extruote of the manager's letter, which will be found below, it will be seen that the prospects of mining there ledes look very bepofal desawhile, 865,190 have been spent on the concession, and that sum is taken in the cocountenan good asset.
