Mr Andrew Shortrede, master Printer in Edinburgh is about to set out thither and to proceed to China, and to act in that capacity there in the same ties. She has letters of introduction and commendation to Mr Damer who is understood to be Sir H. Pottinger's friend, since, in the service of the Shortrede family being connected with the press, it is advisable that he should have the credentials of the former. Mr S. has been long favourably known to the Conservative party, and is well known both in Edinburgh, and in the Courts.
