The State Council of Pabang lately paned on order which deals with an application of the Punjon Mining Company, on behalf of the Cassel Gold Briracting Colopay of Glasgow, for an extension to Pahang of patent rights granted in the Straits Settlements resposting the method of gold recovery known is the M Arthur-Forrest. The Acting Resident stated to the members of Council that the Com- pany had already erected the Lacessary plaut, and introduced the process at the Panjom mines; and added that, if it proved snacessful, the State would benefit by, the increased out pit of gold from the tailings of the minos. It was decided to grant to the Purjons Company, sa agents of the Cast Company, patent rights in Pahang, in rotpact of the afore process of): gold recovery, concurrent' and identical with those granted in the colony of the Straits Settlements. The rights thus granted will expire in October, 1901--Straits Timos.
