Leasan, a husbandman residing at Chekchu makes this representation to show that for a period of more than thirty years

he has been carrying on agricultural pursuits at Chekchu, but

that in consequence of a Proclamation issued to the people of Chekchu on the 27th Instant, they are not allowed to

grow paddy in the area near the Barracks. He owns, however,

a plot of ground of about four mou bearing the name of Imucha, which is situated at a great distance from the Barracks and he therefore begs to be allowed to cultivate it, in order that he may have the means of gaining a livelihood afforded him.
