I have to acknowledge the receipt of your letter No: 20 of yesterday's date transmitting the particulars of the case of a distressed Seaman named Peter Welth who had been discharged here on the 22 Instant from H. M's. Loop Ship Alligator together with the opinion of the Colonial Surgeon that it will be some months before he will be able to work and to provide for himself: under these circumstances His Excellency Governor in Council is pleased to direct that you procure a passage to England for him by the first opportunity that may offer.
