Your of the 29th Ultimo, I am directed by the Governor in Council to inform you that His Excellency is prepared to allow the purchase of an Iron Chest in which to deposit the Records of your Office as he is fully
aware of the importance
that attached to the safe custody of such Documents: at the same time the sum which you mention, three hundred Dollars, is so large an amount that before giving his final sanction to it, His Excellency would
