I am directed by His Excellency
the Governor in Council to acknowledge
the
receipt of your letter of the 29th of last month submitting a tracing of
part of the Queen's Road and pointing out certain alterations which you would propose to have
made in it.
In reply I am to inform you that His Excellency in Council has come to
a decision
on the subject of your proposals for various reasons, the chief ones of which are that Rear Admiral Sir Thomas Cochrane has declined to vacate the
temporary Naval Stores and that the Honorable Major General D'Aguilar has applied to have the Queen's Road turned through the
