The Honorable,

Major General D'Aquilar, C.B.

Sir,

I have the honor to request that you will be so good as to direct that the usual Bedding shall be issued to the men of Her Majesty's 98th Regiment whom you have authorized to be employed as a temporary Police in lieu of those men of the Regiment who have been remanded to their Corps.

I will take care that it is used with every care, and that the Bedding will be taken care of, and will be sent back when they are relieved.

I have the honor to be,

(Signed) Henry Pottinger:
