All contracts were entered into by the Officer in charge of the Military Department Public works, entered into and approved by the General Commanding, who also approved all Recommendations for advance and Contingent Bills drawn by the Engineer Officers and Barrack Masters. These Original documents are retained in the Treasurer's Office.
