I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter dated the 23. ultimo giving cover to the Proceedings of a Committee which had assembled to select a site for the Barrack about to be built at Chuk Chow, and shall request Mr Johnston to proceed as early as convenient to Chuk Chow with the Land Officer and any members of the Committee when Your Lordship may be pleased to appoint.
