In reply to your letter of the 14th Instant to the address of His Excellency Sir Henry Pottinger, Bart.,
I am directed to inform you, that no applications for ground at Hongkong can be registered, until Instructions as to the terms on which further lots are to be granted shall be received from Her Majesty's Government, when due notice will be given.
In the meantime, your letter will be placed on record as showing the location and desire.
