I have the hour to acknowledge the receipt on the 20th Inst of the further progress that had been made in the Public works on Hongkong, you also forward copies of some Regulations (with explanatory remarks upon them) that you had drawn up for the guidance of the Land Officer in relation to the further sale of Lots of Lands on that Island. My attention has likewise been attracted by the Notification on the same subject which I saw inserted in the Hongkong Gazette No. 1 under date the 15th of October!
My intended early visit to Hongkong will afford me a full opportunity of personally inspecting the Buildings and other Public works, and ascertaining
