enquiry into the equitable claims of all holders of land is dependent on him
( + reference to this reply, I beg to bring to his Lordship's notice that I have lately
received advice from my Agents in China, that while the enquiries into land in
the
Colony, have generally been admitted with regards to
this case - as it was transmitted by the late Governor
for his Lordship's decision, there appeared to
be no
hope of the present
Governor coming to any
determination upon
pending this
reference.
I therefore beg, respectfully that his Lordship will be
pleased (should he not see fit to
come to a
decision upon the point from
the
documents which are
before him) to remit back the
case,
with
my
