My Lord,
That there are several Offices connected with the Court about to be established at our new Settlement at Hong Kong still vacant. Of this, be so good as to inform your Lordship, permit me to tender myself as Candidate for a suitable one.
I have been on the Roll of attorneys nearly ... years, and in the Profession altogether ... years, during which last mentioned period I have been actively engaged.
In the event of your Lordship entertaining my application, of course satisfactory testimonials would be required. I have no hesitation in saying that I could without difficulty procure them from many Gentlemen of the Bar to whom I am well known.
