We have been requested by the
friends of Dr. Richard Jones, who was
Assistant Physician and Surgeon
Victoria Hospital for Seamen at Hongkong
deceased only last ... when the British Institution was established
to make enquiry whether information has reached the Colonial Office of the decease of that gentleman, his family not having received letter from him for four successive mails. He should not have ventured to trouble your Lordship had he not obtained the required information in some other quarter and he hopes the anxiety of Dr Jones' family will plead a sufficient apology for this intrusion.
