The travellers started from Ertsuoredak with theobject of tracing and examining the route taker by Alexander the Great in his futacion of India. On the way they visited Persia going as far as Toharan and saying in that county several months. They were very successful in following almost step by step the march of the Macedonian army which moved in three parallel columns.
