only state
that the detention of Mrs
Therr's Letter arose
will neglect to furnish me

reasonable exertion was

to that Gentleman, bearing subsequent post-Office dates, were
sent to one or more Firms
and returned.

the Mercantile Houses
will
furnish a
List of the persons whose letters they receive,
I fear that cases of this sort will, notwithstanding the utmost exertion, occasionally occur.
I shall be better able to explain the postage of 1 mark
upon the Letter, if you will
be kind
enough to send me
the cover.
In further explanation of
my
Letter of the 1st inst I beg to refer to Sec 28 of
1st Vict. C. 34 which subjects "packets or letters containing pattions
containing postage.
