It would, too, have been a singular instance if Messrs Gibb Livingston and Co had sent for these Letters so frequently, when they rarely send for their own Conveyed till information. of Letters lying for them in some way in the Post office for them. That Messrs Pirone Gray and Co do not themselves consider me wholly to blame may be inferred from the fact that Messrs Fletcher Larkins receive their Letters.

now In answer to the complaint made by Captr Trruce, I hope that His Excellency will not, considering the circumstances under which I am labouring, deem hours after the arrival of the mail by the "Spiteful" for the delivery of nearly your Letters to extend to such evidence of great neg- ligence as to merit censure.

I have generally understood that the delivery of that particular Mail gave local satisfaction, and it is with pain I hear to the contrary. I am perfectly aware that
