THY PIELD-LABOUCHERE LIDEL CASE.
LONDON, 28th June. When the case of Cyrus Field against Lakon- shera, the editor of Truck, for libel was culled for hearing, the Attorney-General, on behalf of Las bouchers, withdrew the ples of justification and expressed Labouchere's regret for publishing the article, and stated that he and Sir Henry Jatas. Field's counsel, had agreed upon the amuant that! would be paid by Labouchere in satisfaction of: the comte sad asked the Judge to discharge tha jury. It is understool that for several days La- oogchers' counsel has been wanting to have it settled by his making an apology and retraction and not paying anything for costs. This Field refused to scoopt.
