RECEIVED

NOV 2 1844

laid before

The Lords Commissioners

of Her Majesty's Treasury

Your letter dated 22nd

relative to granting

Money

out of the Public Revenue of Hong Kong towards the completion of the

Colonial Hospital there,

My Lords,

I am directed by Lord Stanley

to state to your Lordships

that it appears from the papers enclosed in your letter that a Hospital, denominated the Seaman's Hospital, has been already established at Hong Kong by private

contributions, amongst which was a donation of $2000 from Mr Cowasjee Pallanjee Rustomjee, and it is

proposed to combine hospital accommodation for the subordinate Servants

of Her Majesty's Government with the Seaman's Hospital.
