Herewith, for the information of Lord Stanley,

A copy of a letter from the Postmaster General, dated 20th inst., respecting Post Office at Hong Kong

It was natural to expect that the first attempt to establish a Post Office in the Colony

should be attended with difficulties. Their Lordships

are of opinion that it is necessary at the earliest possible period to enforce

the Levying of Colonial Postage,

while to all the other Colonies and Expressions of Great

Britain

May be applied
